Parr's deliver over 3 to 5 working days not the next day delivery that they say they aim for on their website.
My 2 bags of sand were delivered to the wrong address and it took almost 24 hours for them to rectify the issue.

Soil was good quality however I did send an email regarding other items associated with this delivery (ballast) x4 bags was split and had emptied onto my white decorative stones on the front. An email was sent with no response. The bags was due to badly packaged/ pallets broken not secured.
As a regular customer, this was the first bad service I had received, I was highly disappointed that no there was no correspondence to my email,

It’s no good receiving an email to say your order is ready to collect then you drive 20 miles and there is none in stock, so frustrating but to be fair they did promise to deliver on the Tuesday which they did but they did not call me to confirm the order would be delivered what they said they would do. Product is fine and price is a lot cheaper than Wickes. Hopefully they will learn but I very much doubt it.

Waited all day Wednesday for arranged delivery, rang in at 4.30 to enquire
No apology or reason other than “ the driver must have run short of time “ and
the person who arranged the delivery finishes at 4.00 pm
Given a delivery for the next day (Thursday) which arrived.

Did not deliver on day, no calls,landscape gardeners were finished their work and moved onto next job as would not wait after 6.00pm.
Delivered a day late
Rang next day to complain as cost to spread was £40 to get them back and told tough as they dont have enough profit in the order.
I paid £127 and would not be surprised if they paid £50 at cost.
I am in my 60s and cannot spread 1 mt gravel.
Very very bad service.

Unfortunately J Parr got my order wrong - I ordered:
1 x Cement - correctly delivered
12 x Paving - correctly delivered
6 x Sharp Sand - correctly delivered
6 x Ballast - not delivered as ordered JPARR delivered another 6 x Sharp Sand instead.
Because I needed the Ballast on the day it was delivered, rather than get in touch with JParr I went to Wickes and purchased 6 bags from them. Wickes is where I will go in future

Thanks for taking the time to review, sorry a picking error (they can happen, staff are only human) resulted in your 6 bags of ballast missed off the delivery. Very surprised you didn't pick the phone giving us the opportunity to put the order right, we would have sent them straight over by car saving you an unnecessary trip to a DIY shop and paying for goods you didn't want.

Thanks for your review, sorry we couldn't deliver on the day you requested as you are in an area that we don't deliver to often. Our sales office did speak to you to advise of this and again to give you a date and the goods were delivered on the morning of that day.

Thanks for taking the time to do a review, glad the product was exactly what you wanted and arrived on the day requested. I suspect your emails went into spam, two were sent, an acknowledgement of your order and another confirming the delivery date.

Unfriendly staff. asked if timber could be cut down to fit into my car, was told i had to buy a saw!

Hi thanks for your review, sorry you felt the staff were unfriendly, our Benton site has no timber cutting facilities and the staff for H&S reasons don't have saws. He was probably offering you the only solution available if you hadn't brought your own saw to get a long length in your car?

First order turned up unannounced and incomplete and then required a number of emails to correct and then the order again turned up unannounced, delivery driver excellent sales and communication both embarrassing, inaccurate and diabolical, did send an email to the Manager but did not receive a reply hence the review.

First order they try to deliver on day I told them I was on holiday. New order on 10th July, heard nothing by 17th about delivery for 20-24th so call. One depot say it is not them so I ring the other, they say not them so I go back to the first, they say they would ring me back, they don't. I ring them again on 20th they tell me again it is the other depot so I ring them, they say they will ring me back now about an hour later they have not. They they appear to not have a clue!

After using J Parr for a number of years rather than competitors, prices I have paid do not reflect loyalty. I have paid over the odds for material and the response from a member of your team was “it’s the internet set price”.
I know these are C19 times, but a good reminder of business is to look after people who come back and use your products.

Not sure what your complaint is we have kept our rates online at the same price other than items that have gone up from suppliers. Our rates are monitored against competition and are competitive, there are loyalty points offering discount for online customers. If you have tried to pay over the phone you will have been directed online as we don't offer this method of payment now. Dave A.

Delivered wrong bricks ! Had to use them as trades were booked. Customer service none existent and told they don’t do the bricks I even ordered !! No offer of discount or good will just a sorry. Good job the supplied bricks look all right or would have been very costly mistake that they couldnt fix. Prob won’t use again.

Sorry we didn't meet your expectation this time, yes we delivered the wrong bricks, our transport office rang you in the morning with a solution and left a message for you to call back. We got your call late in the afternoon when you said your wife liked the ones that were sent and no further action required.

Ordered and let down a day before items where due to arrive
Then told I had to wait 2 weeks to get them
Frustrating as I had the workmen ready for the day I was told and delayed my project

Told that it was out for delivery on the Friday, arrived on the Monday and forgot part of the order, had to collect from the depot myself, could have collected the whole order the week before and save the hassle.

Delivery turned up as stated, got one pack of blocks off the wagon and hydraulic hose split emptying the contents all over the road, pack of blocks dropped to the floor accidents happen! However, no help from the company when the driver rang. I was told I would be contacted to sort a clean up, the call didn't come, when I rang them I was basically told they dont have the staff and it's just unlucky, as I say accidents happen but I dont expect to clean up their mess!

I can't fault the materials excellent stud work but I asked twice for the delivery to be on Friday 13th when I would be off, only for it to arrive on Tuesday, luckily the driver was a great bloke and put in the house for the wife. More communication and reading of emails would solve this issue.

One of the plasterboard sheets was put on a pallet with no support for the ends so it was bowed and it cracked when it was lifted off.

My first experience with Parr's was not great. Ordering was fine and pain free. The first delivery was on time, the condition of the CLS timber was great, however the MDF architrave was the wrong thickness and damaged. I was told replacements would be sent out on the Thur, but they didn't come til the Monday. Packaging was non existent, they were simply banded together with parcel tape, not good for decorative mouldings.

Wrong gravel was on delivery lorry. Waiting for direct gravel to be delivered. Also I asked for delivery on a date that was ignored.

Sorry we didn’t meet your expectations this time – we did deliver a day earlier than requested (1 bag of gravel) a loading error had the wrong type on the vehicle. The correct gravel was then delivered by 9am on the day the you originally required it.

The 4x2 I ordered with this floor was fuckin terrible alsorts of twists and bends in it I was on a timescale to get stud walls up so I chopped most of it up for noggins needless to say I won’t be ordering off them again.

We have checked your order, goods were delivered at 11.15am on the expected day of delivery and signed for at the time. If you were then not happy with any of the items a quick call to our sales office and replacements could have been sent out that same day rather than wait 5 days to let us know in a review.

Very poor follow up customer service regarding my order.
Staff had delivered to wrong address due to showroom error with address. 29 Not 26
I was then told I was to blame for the error when my PayPal, billing and delivery address were all the same.
A typo by a member of staff and also spoke to a guy called matthew who was useless not bothered and no call back for my order update.
Delivery driver was brilliant and couldn't apologise enough, baring in mind he came back to rectify.

Ordered and paid on line for bradstone blocks informed next day don’t even stock them so offered lookalikes.Part of order did not turn up,no word from Parrs leaving us unable to start the job.We had to phone around to find stockist or the substitute blocks and had to travel to North Shields to get them.We then had a full pallet left over which they had placed in front of our nieghbours gate and they have said returns could be 2 to 3 weeks.The blocks were ok but poor service from Parrs.

Apologies, we didn't get the communication right on your order, the blocks you ordered were only stocked in our Stockton site and not your local Benton depot.
The ones you have been sent are every bit as good.

Shipping was slow, ordered on Monday and not delivered until the following Friday.
Rang timber department a number of days following the order and not particularly helpful. Also rang on day of delivery and was unable to give a general delivery time (i did have other things to do that day) and was finally delivered late afternoon, not leaving much time to go about my day.

Thank you for your review, your order was received by us on morning of 23rd May our delivery slots for 24th/25th were already full and our next available date after the bank holiday weekend was 29th. An email was sent advising this and the goods were delivered on 29th.

Ordered 17th May. Delivery expected 22nd. Rang at 4.30pm. Told by female it would be here before 5pm. She didn't ask for details, but I gave her my name, address and 'phone and she said she'd let me know. Nothing! At 6.15pm I rang office and left a message on the answerphone asking to be called. On 23rd driver delivered part of the order at 7.15am. Told driver that it was short and he said I'd have to call office. Rang them at 7.30am and told it would be looked into.It arrived 24th. Dreadful!!

Thank you for your review, unfortunately our driver ran out of hours on 22nd due to a delay on another site, our sales office had already gone home so we couldn’t call you to advise, as you say the goods went out to you at 7.15am the next morning less 5 of the 65 fence boards ordered, which followed at a time as agreed.
